    Default Problems with mac

    Okay, so I've managed to get the distro copied correctly to a USB drive. Unfortuneately, i can't get it to boot from the usb drive. I've attached a picture of the drive view in OSX. If i've done something seriously wrong, PLEASE let me know.

    Seriously do you think we can help you without having any ideas about what you did ? What guide you followed, what errors did occur ?
    We need more details in order to help you troubleshoot the problem.

    AFAIK you can't boot Linux from a USB stick on Mac, there are ways to do it, but its complicated for a new user, run Backtrack on VMWare instead, its much better for a new user, or boot from the DVD.

    Ah, sorry about that everybody. I was in no state to be posting last night, let alone near my computer.

    Okay, so with a clear head and a good nights rest, I'll probably just use VMware for backtrack on my mac. I used:

    Code:
    $ dd if=bt4-r2.iso of=/dev/disk2 bs=1m
    to copy the .iso to usb. I'm pretty sure that worked. I'm going to try the TD on my lappy later today.

    Again, my apologies to everyone about the shitty post last night. My bad.

    I'm not entirely sure if that will work, but a very easy way is to use the "Universal USB installer" (google that)
