You have to use the wifi card as USB if you want wlan0... otherwise eth0 is all you have.

BT4 and VMware both support USB wifi cards, however you'll want to pay attention to which one you get. Search around the the forums and interwebs for more info on device compatibility with regard to driver support and packet injection. $15 bucks can get you what you want if you know where to look.
