Hi, just to ask why I don't have network connection after boot?
BT is booting, I type startx and I get graphic interface, then I start Firefox and I can't open any website.
I tried with some autoscan options in network menu, but I didn't succeed.
Just to say, I installed BT into multi boot Live DVD, together with other linux distros, with help of sarducd software.
so, it is not installed on HDD than on DVD.

Backtrackc is a security minded linux distro... there are many security risks associated with your network automatically starting up when you boot up your machine. Personally i think that it is a good thing that the network does not automatically start up by default in backtrack. It is much better then having networking start up and automatically connecting you to some open rogue AP nearby.
this helped:
update-rc.d networking defaults
Great that you found a way.
