wpa/wpa2 handshakes

i was just curious to ask you all a question suppose you are waiting for a 4 way handshake with airodump with no associated clients so you cant de-authenticate them so you are waiting then somebody tries to connect to the router but his password was rejected but you still get a handshake will that handshake will be of the rejecteeed password or the original one?

are you sure of what you're sayin'? You get a 4WAY-handshake with a wrong password authentication? I never tried it, but that just doesn't seem possible..
Are you trying this in your own router? It should be easy for you to answer this... just attack the hs with the right password inside the dictionary.

i am rephrasing his question,
you're waiting for handshake (4 handshake),someone suddenly connects to the router with wrong WPA key and it gives you handshake *as according to the rules *
now let's say,if we use rainbow table or dictionary on that particular data,will it be a successful attack ???

the answer is no.the person should input the correct key as far as i know.

I tried this about a year ago. Airodump reported a successful handshake capture even though the handshake wasn't completed successfully. The handshake can be cracked for the incorrect password.

lol, i didn't even imagined we could capture a handshake with a wrong password in it. Thanks for the info.

Well technically its not a FULL wpa handshake, but its still enough to crack if thats your thing.
