What kind of video hardware is the machine running?
Hi all, I am new to this forum.
I downloaded backtrack 4 DVD image and burned onto a DVD-RW
I am able to boot into the menu and select the first option (1024x768) one.
And I waited until it gets to root so I typed startx.
But then the DVD didn't load after I have typed startx and I couldn't get into the desktop.
when i'm Using Vmware it's worrking Fine no Problem at all.....
I put the burned DVD into my DVD drive and boot with (backtrack 3),and i also tried it with (Backtrack 4). Loads up the drivers and all, and asks me to login (I use the default username "root" and password "toor". Once in, i started the xconf to configure the screen (worked okay), and afterwards "startx", but it doesn't start properly. I get:

giving up.

Anyone can help me out?
Thanks
Ali
