Risoluzione fissa a 800x600

Ciao a tutti

Ho da poco comprato un netbook acer aspire one d260, installato bt in dualboot con il nativo win7.
Il mio problema è che non riesco a settare la risoluzione a 1024x768 (la risoluzione ottimale) e sono costretto a utilizzarlo a 800x600 (è possibile selezionare anche 640x480 ma ovviamente è peggio che peggio).

Ho già consultato svariati forum, cercando di modificare il file xorg.conf variando la DefaultDepth a 8, 16, 24 e 32 bit ma non cambia nulla.

Possibile che nessuno sappia nemmeno come indirizzarmi alla soluzione? Sto continuando a scervellarmi ogni giorno, la gpu per l'esattezza è integrata, una intel gma 3150. Leggendo in giro per forum ho pensato di andare su intellinuxgraphics e scaricare i driver aggiornati per la gpu ma non riesco a compilarli (e non so nemmeno se passare da vesa ad intel sia la scelta opportuna per risolvere il problema.
Una precisazione, ho sbagliato in precedenza a scrivere, la risoluzione ottimale è 1024x600.

Ormai non conto più le volte che modificando xorg.conf mi sono ritrovato "no screen found" dopo reboot e costretto a dare fixvesa... Help

Hehe, usa i driver vesa a 800x600.

Se trovi su internet una soluzione per "linux" é valida anche per backtrack, ma non siamo onnisapienti su qualunque pezzo di hardware in circolazione...

gentilissimi amici volevo aggiungermi alla lista di....QUELLI CHE.....LA RISOLUZIONE.FISSA 800x600.(netbook Eeepc 1001px)nun gliela fanno!!!!
a parte gli scherzi !è da circa due settimane che sto cercando di far cambiare la risoluzione grafica della mia BT4 R1(sull'ASUS Eeepc 1001px)ma NIENTE!sempre 800x600(ed è veramente impossibile"lavorare").ho letto di tutto,persino in lingua non consona alla mia KULTURA.ho cambiato il kerneL(dal 2.6.34.... al 2.35.7)prendendo spunto da Ubunto 10.04.1[su cui va tutto splendidamente]ho installato i driver intel linux graphic(li vedo nella fase di booting ma quando lancio lo startx ...siamo sempre li!!!!)speriamo nella R2!!!!!!!!scusatemi se so stato lungo ma nun gliela faccio più!!!!(il bello è ke i miei hanno venduto pure la vacca! per farmi studiare maaa.......)grazie a tutti ciao!

Mi aggiungo anche io alla lista, con un Toshiba Tecra A10 (grafica integrata) che lavora in dualboot con ubuntu 10.10, Con ubuntu il display si configura senza problemi mentre con BT4 non sono riuscito a risolvere il problema, neppure usando lo stesso file di configurazione di ubuntu 10.10.
