Why dont you try adding the line and see what happens...

Ok I would like to try Kismet I,m using BT4r1 I have googled and found I have to change the line "suiduser=your_user_here" in Kismet.conf. I cant find this line in the file, Is it a simple case of just adding it somewhere near the begining if so where? Thks for any help

Isn't that line for the old version of kismet?
Of course, if you really wanted to have some fun, go to Wal-Mart late at night and ask the greeter if they could help you find trashbags, roll of carpet, rope, quicklime, clorox and a shovel. See if they give you any strange looks. --Streaker69

I've never had to change any settings other than enter the wlan interface to be used.
What steps have you tried to get it working ?

Here is a good idea, go to Kismet and read the documentation. If that fails then search google.
Still having problems ask on the kismet forums. This way you can get the best answers.
