Default Help installing Nessus on BT2 Final

Is there a tutorial on how to install nessun on BT2 Final?
I've tryed the macamba's tutorial, but i get some strange errors on BT2 Final (something about shared libraries,etc....); that tutorial works perfectly on BT1 Final.

    any help is very appreciated

    Default Howto install nessus

HOWTO install Nessus-3.0.5 onto a harddisk installed BackTrack v2.0 Final using Nessus-installer-2.2.9

This howto is for installing Nessus-3.0.5 onto Backtrack which has no other versions of Nessus on it (there are other guides out there for updating earlier versions of Nessus).

My BackTrack v2.0 Final is installed onto a Linux Ext 2 partition.
A Linux Swap partition of 2GB was created as well (i tried 1GB but nessus-installer would not work due to a "cannot allocate memory" msg when running the Nessus-installer).

    Step 1: Downloads needed

sharutils-4.2.1-9.i386.rpm (if you have a program that decodes uudecode files, then this package is not needed).
    nessus-installer-2.2.9.sh

    also worth downloading are:-

    nessus 3.0 Advanced User Guide
    nessus 3.0 Client User Guide

sharutils-4.2.1-9.i386.rpm can be downloaded from here:- (I can't add URL right now, but i think you can work out the links)
    ftp://
    ftp.rpmfind.net/linux/redhat
    /7.3/en/os/i386/RedHat
/RPMS/sharutils-4.2.1-9.i386.rpm (save the RPM Package File to the /tmp/ location).

nessus-installer-2.2.9.sh can be downloaded from here:-
    ww
    w.nessus.or
    g/download/
at the Nessus 2.2.9 installer (all unix systems) download page (save the SH Package File to the /tmp/ location).

nessus 3.0 Advanced User Guide and nessus 3.0 Client User Guide can also be downloaded from:-
    ww
    w.nessus.or
    g/download/
at the Nessus 3.0.5 for Linux download page.

When at the Nessus site register your nessus so you will be e-mail a activation code which will be used later.

    Step 2: Installing sharutils-4.2.1-9
Convert the rpm package to tgz with the following commands:
    #cd /tmp
    #rpm2tgz sharutils-4.2.1-9.i386.rpm
    #installpkg sharutils-4.2.1-9.i386.tgz

    step 3: Running the nessus-installer
    #su
    #sh nessus-installer-2.2.9.sh
The NESSUS INSTALLATION SCRIPT will now be showing.
    Press enter to continue installation.
At the [/usr/local] on the installation location, press enter.
On the Ready to install page, press enter.
At the Activation code : (enter the activation code which was e-mailed to you earlier and then press enter).
On the Registration page press enter to continue.
On the Finished page press enter to quit.

Step 4 Creating a nessusd certificate:
    #cd /root
    #su
    #/usr/local/sbin/nessus-mkcert
At the CA certificate life time in days [1460]: (enter 1460 then press enter).
At the Server certificate life time in days [365]: (enter 365 then press enter)
At the Your country : (enter uk then press enter)
At the Your state or province name: (just press enter)
At the Your location: (just press enter again)
At the Your organization: (press enter)
    Press enter to exit.

Step 5 Add a nessus user:
    #/usr/local/sbin/nessus-adduser
    Login: root
    Authentication (pass/cert) [pass]: pass
    Login password: toor
    Login password (again): toor
The following msg appears: "Enter the rules for this user, and then hit ctrl-D once you are done: (the user can have an empty rules set)"
    ctrl-D
    Is that ok? (y/n) [y] y

    Step 6 Run Nessus
    #nessusd
    #nessus

Note: Remember to invoke (#/usr/local/sbin/nessus-update-plugins) periodically to update your list of plugins. :-)

    Default

the nessus module from slax was designed for slax5 not for slax6(likeBT2)

if u want install it go dl MY module rebuilt from nessus sources directly, actually working well

the error in previous module is in structure
to correct it if you dont want dl MY module
1 extract module to a dir
    create a usr directory
cd to opt dir in your module dir
cut paste man dir in previous created usr dir
cut paste others dirs in opt in the root of the directory where you extract module
say yes overwrite all when ask
    rebuild module
    that rox norm
the library error come that the lib must be in /lib and not in /opt/lib/(it's the case when you just extract this module)

    that's all
to be sure to not make an error dl my module, it's recompiled from sources....
