    Default Newbie questions

I have just installed backtrack and am trying to get the hang of the different tools but when I run them (ie DNSwalk) it says dns walk is not currently installed you can install by typing apt-get install dnswalk. When I do that it tells me it is installed and is up to date.

What the heck am I doing wrong.

    Sorry for the dumb questions

    Thanks

Besides the obvious fact that you are trying to run before you can walk, try one of these 3 things.
    1. Find the tool in the menu and run it from there.
    2. Open a terminal and type ./toolname then hit enter.
    3. Navigate to the tool directory and type the same from 2 above.
But before you do any of that, read the "if you are new thread" linked below.
To be successful here you should read all of the following.

Failure to do so will probably get your threads deleted or worse.
