I just set up my USB with BT4 w/Persistant Changes and my computer has an Atheros AR5009 802.11 wireless card. I'm VERY new to BackTrack and I'm having many troubles patching my wireless for injection to do WEP-key recovery.
I found this webpage
and I follow the instructions concisely, but here are my error messages:
When I use the commands
ifconfig ath0 down
ifconfig wifi0 down
The Konsole then tells me those drivers don't exist or something like that.
So ignored these and input the next commands:
svn -r 4073 checkout Revision 4133: /madwifi/trunk madwifi-ng
patch -N -p 1 -i madwifi-ng-r4073.patch
after this I used
But then I get error messages again.
Am I using the right instructions to patch my wireless card? When I use airmon-ng command it shows my driver as athk9, and I've read that madwifi is compatible with athk9 drivers and my wireless card...
Could someone please give me detailed instructions on what to do from scratch?
