    Default Wireless issue

So I got Backtrack 4 up and running on an old Acer Aspire 5570z and I'm having some wireless issues. The laptop has a wireless switch on the front, and I can turn it on every once and awhile, but when it's off it's very difficult to turn on. I guess the spring is worn out so a lot of the times it doesn't take when I switch it. Is there a way around the switch?

    Thanks

Don't turn the switch to the off position?
You might try and open the laptop up and see if the switch can be removed or fixed etc.

Why do you even use the switch? Just leave it always on and enable/disable it by software.. I think it doesn't affect the battery, if that's the issue..

Hah, yeah I'm not a complete moron. Once it's switched on, I leave it on. I take it to school and everything so once in awhile it gets turned off on accident. I never turn it off purposely.

Easy now. Now one is questioning (at least yet) your intelligence here. Again go back to my reply above, I mentioned trying to remove or repair the switch. If those fail or whatever then maybe you should put some tape on it in the on position. Otherwise I am afraid there is not much we can do for you.

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't feel comfortable enough to start taking apart my laptops though. Hopefully I can get it turned on and I suppose I will try taping it. Oh and I knew you weren't questioning my intelligence, I was just making a funny
