I wanted to know the technical differences, if any, between the tools Firewalk and Tcptraceroute. After reading about both of them I think both have the same function of using the TTL field in the IP header alongwith TCP or UDP ports to check whether the firewall lets the packets through a specific port or not.
The reason am asking for the difference is Firewalk is giving me some problems while installing but since I found tcptraceroute to do the same thing I dont wanna waste time fixing the Firewalk issue. However, if Firewalk is really worth the download and more feature packed than tcptraceroute then I'll definitely have a go at it.
Thanks for reading
