    Default temp files

Where are temp files located that can be deleted to save disk space? I ran crunch to make a list and i was surprised that my 8 gig virtual machine ran out of space when the file was only 15 MB after updating it. Is there a tool i can run like CCleaner for windows to clean out all temp files?
