Default Can't figure out how to get Internet working

This is only the second distro I've tried next to Ubuntu so I'm very new at Linux. I'm running BT4 Final off a USB flash drive. I'm using a WG111v3 wireless adapter and as you can see by this post it's working correctly under Windows.

I tried running a couple commands to get my adapter running but they didn't work. The following konsole information is being pulled straight from my memory of yesterday when I tried these but I think I remember it correctly.

I ran ifconfig -a and it listed a bunch of devices: eth0, eth1, eth2, ath0 and wlan0. I tried starting them all via ifconfig [device] up and all but eth0 and wlan0 returned "no such device." Nothing happened with eth0 and wlan0.

So next I tried running /etc/init.d/networking start and it returned something like this:

    Code:
    No DHCPOFFERS received.
No working leases in persistent database - sleeping.
if-up.d/mountnfs[eth0]: waiting for interface eth1 before doing NFS mounts.
if-up.d/mountnfs[eth0]: waiting for interface eth2 before doing NFS mounts.
if-up.d/mountnfs[eth0]: waiting for interface ath0 before doing NFS mounts.
eth1: ERROR while getting interface flags: no such device.
eth2: ERROR while getting interface flags: no such device.
ath0: ERROR while getting interface flags: no such device.
    No DHCPOFFERS received.
No working leases in persistent database - sleeping.
if-up.d/mountnfs[wlan0]: waiting for interface eth0 before doing NFS mounts.
if-up.d/mountnfs[wlan0]: waiting for interface eth1 before doing NFS mounts.
if-up.d/mountnfs[wlan0]: waiting for interface eth2 before doing NFS mounts.
Then nothing else happened and it waited for me to do something else. Does anyone have an idea about how I can get this started? I'd like to have the internet while in Backtrack so I can learn more while actually in the OS to try what I'm learning.

    Thanks for your time.

If you are new to Linux, I recommend start following these links:

To configure your wireless network, search for wicd. Read all these threads.

Cool Re: Can't figure out how to get Internet working

Ok, lol, it was actually pretty easy to get it going and now I feel rather dumb. Strange that the adapter isn't blinking like it does in Windows, but w/e it works. Posting this from Backtrack

Just had to run /etc/init.d/wicd start then open the wicd network manager and I was good to go.

Ok now this is unrelated from the topic, but now that I have that fixed can you help me with something else? I'm trying to dual boot with Windows 7. Right now I'm running off a Live USB version on my flash drive. Whenever I get to the partitioner during the install the only choice it gives me is to dedicate all 500gbs of my hard drive to Backtrack which would wipe Windows away. According to the guide in the how-to section it should be giving me a bar I can edit to dedicate space. Any idea what's wrong?

see(click) the options, where you have to specify partitions manually.

I went through all the options and it won't do anything except 100% of the drive. I'm gonna try creating a new partition in Windows with Partition Magic and see if it'll let me install in that instead of taking over the entire drive.
