Well I followed the instructions as posted and it seems to be working although I'm somewhat surprised with the benchmark results.

Computed 2995.98 PMKs/s total.
#1: 'CAL++ Device #1 'ATI'': 2868.2 PMKs/s (RTT 2.9)
#2: 'CPU-Core (SSE2)': 311.5 PMKs/s (RTT 3.0)

This card is a Radeon HD 5450 so somewhat a lower performance card but still?
Also the benchmark doesn't show details of the card so perhaps I've missed something.

The proc is an AMD Althon X2 6400 1MB L2 Cache

Can anyone offer some advice on 1) are the results typical and 2) why does the benchmark not identify the HD5450

1) I don't know...the score seems low but it's possible. Ask developer on pyrit google group
2)Try to update pyrit.
I'm not an expert on pyrit, I am able to make it work on backtrack.

When installing Stream sdk I get as far as using nano to modify the text.
I don't understand that part.
I change "export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=opt/oracle/instantclient_10_2" to this "export LD_LIBRARY_PATH".
But where do I add this "ATISTREAMSDKROOT=/ati-stream-sdk-v2.2-lnx32
ATISTREAMSDKSAMPLESROOT=/ati-stream-sdk-v2.2-lnx32/samples
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=opt/oracle/instantclient_10_2:$ATISTREAMSDKROOT/lib/x86
Or sshould I be deleting the whole string "export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=opt/oracle/instantclient_10_2"
and be replacing with the new one?

following the how-to your bash.rc should be like this

Hi guys,

I followed the steps but I have problem to install cpyrit-opencl-0.3, when I build I got the message:

The headers required to build the OpenCL-kernel were not found. Trying to continue anyway...

When I continue to install wtih this command:
./setup.py install --record ~/pyritopencl.txt

When I tried to run pyrit I got this:
root@bt:~/pyrit_svn/cpyrit_opencl# pyrit
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'cal::Error'
what(): Stateful operation requested has already been performed
Aborted

I tried to modify setup.py by instructions from Comment by Bytemast...@googlemail.com, May 01, 2010 : from page

I'm running into a problem whenever I run pyrit list_cores after starting X. The error message reads

root@bt:~# pyrit list_cores
X Error of failed request:  BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation)
  Major opcode of failed request:  144 ()
  Minor opcode of failed request:  19
  Serial number of failed request:  10
  Current serial number in output stream:  10

the pyrit tests works fine outside of X so I know it's not a problem with the actual program. So far I've tried reinstalling the driver and redoing the steps involving the bashrc file but nothing seems to work.

any help would be greatly appreciated
