Injection Trouble with IPW2200 Wireless Adapter

Hi all,

I am running Back Track 4 off a live cd, using a HP Pavilion DV1100 that has a built-in Intel Pro Wireless IPW2200 BG card.

I am able to put it in monitor mode and capture packets no problem with airodump-ng. My trouble is injecting ANY type of packet using aireplay-ng. No matter the method, including the --test option, it always returns at 0% for injection attempts.

I've tried first by simply enabling monitor mode:
airmon-ng start eth1, starting airodump, and then starting aireplay in separate shell.

I've also tried creating the rtap0 interface described in several posts and on aircrack website and calling rtap0 as listener and eth1 as injector:

modprobe ipw2200 rtap_iface=1
ifconfig eth1 up
ifconfig rtap0 up
iwconfig eth1 essid <ESSID> channel <#> key s:fakekey mode managed
airodump-ng -c <channel> --bssid <AP MAC> -w dump rtap0
aireplay-ng -4 -a <AP MAC> -h 00:11:22:33:44:55 -i rtap0 eth1

Still can capture packets on airodump. But immediately once I start aireplay on a seperate shell, the airodump-ng stops collecting and the #/s stays at zero.

I'm assuming from the boards that all IPW2200 patches required are already installed and ready to go. Should I be expecting such trouble with the IPW2200? Any tips from those who used with BT 4? If it's purely the card, perhaps I'll just get another plug-in card?

Have you tried putting the card into monitor mode with airmon-ng rather than using modprobe?

The context for this is airmon-ng start [Interface name]

I tried different variants including the airmon-ng. I decided to just spend the $30 on a AWUS036H since it seems to be well supported. No reason for me to struggle with if the cost is so cheap to avoid hardware compatibility issues

Injection dont!

How can i solve the problem?
I started the aireplay -9 Injection test, and this is the output:

No answer!

the ipw2200 can inject, but only injects arps, so make sure you only use the arp replay attack. and to make sure you have an arp packet to replay, connect to the target ap with another client.
i believe the correct attack number is -3 make sure you don't have mac address filtering turned on

Do you can recommend me the Alfa AWUS036NH?
Is this Card FULLY supporting Monitor Mode and Injection?
Also the range is important.

Also i need a Shop where i can buy this Card.
