Tp-link Tl-wn422g V2 Chipset Atheos (ath9k_htc) problem

Hello! I already bought this card, but I have trouble with run this card. When i type in console "lsusb" then computer is recognize card (atheosusbcard tl-wn422g - ath9k_htc) but when i type in console "airmon-ng", computer recognize only my integrated wifi card intel(ath9k).
My operating system is Backrtack 4 R1, I've tried this drivers ath9k_htc - Linux Wireless but it doesn't work. I've tried one more way from website https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Ha...rkCardsTP-Link about TL-WN422G v2.4. All is going well but when I type "sudo ndiswrapper -a 0cf3:1006 netathuw", error appears that 'netathuw' isn't right command.

Ohh, and when I tried to install default driver from backtrack, error appears that the driver isn't right. Thanks for answers! Sorry with my broken english, I'm from Poland smile.gif

problem solved with this

download compat wireless from her :
Index of /download/compat-wireless-2.6/

extract the program,open a shell and enter into the dirctory and write the following command
sudo make
sudo make install
(process may take a few minutes,please wait )


Download your firmware (ar9271.fw )
http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kerne...2fd631c9f479a1

paste the file in these directory : /lib/firmware
: /lib/firmware/2.6.34

plug your TP-LINK WN422G v2(con chipset Atheros) and if all is gone well you may have something like this :

Bus 002 Device 004: ID 0cf3:1006 Atheros Communications, Inc. TP-Link TL-WN422G v2 802.11g [Atheros AR9271]

if u write dmesg u may have something like this:

sb 2-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4
usb 2-2: firmware: requesting ar9271.fw
usb 2-2: ath9k_htc: Transferred FW: ar9271.fw, size: 49280
usb 2-2: ath9k_htc: HTC initialized with 33 credits
ath: EEPROM regdomain: 0x809c
ath: EEPROM indicates we should expect a country code
ath: doing EEPROM country->regdmn map search
ath: country maps to regdmn code: 0x52
ath: Country alpha2 being used: CN
ath: Regpair used: 0x52
cfg80211: Calling CRDA for country: CN
Registered led device: ath9k-phy3::radio
Registered led device: ath9k-phy3::assoc
Registered led device: ath9k-phy3::tx
Registered led device: ath9k-phy3::rx
usb 2-2: ath9k_htc: USB layer initialized
usbcore: registered new interface driver ath9k_hif_usb

now my tp-link work but i have a problem:
when i try to use airodump i can't set my wireless card's channel to 11 (always my channel is -1 )

when you want a fixed channel, instead of :

--channel X

type :

--channel X,X

(so type "--channel 11,11" if you want channel 11)

does it help?

I have the same problem with my Tl-wn422g driver. I have already downloaded the programs, but I still don't know where to copy the files.
