Why didn't you buy a card that is clearly supported on the aircrack-ng wiki? Buying an unknown/unsupported card is asking for trouble.
Hello all, this is my first post, I purchased an alfa network usb adapter, awus051nh.Now when I am in backtrack and I write :
"iwconfig"
it gives back the following:
lo: no wireless extensions
eth0: no wireless extensions
ra0: Ralink STA.

Ok, fair enough. Now when I try to write airomon-ng, I would expect to get some sort of interface list or something. Except whenI press airmon-ng I get back absolutely nothing under the "chipset" "interface" "drvier" bit.
NO ari cracking wuite works with my card, I don't understand this should be a compatible card what is wrong? do I have to install a driver in vmware/BT4 ?

proud user of backtrack-ng and aircrack-linux
Alfa network cards are supposed to be supported fully.
I don't know what's wrong?
There are other posts on other forums that say that it works?
I just checked the aircrack-ng wiki every single alfa network card is supported , and well recommended on the forum.
I have even seen on some other forums similar to this one praising the compatibility of my model (awuso51nh) . I just cannot understand what is happening?
Do I need to install drivers in vmware/backtrack?
bump!! Can someone please help me with this issue? I know that teh awuso51nh cards are supposed to be comptable according to other forums posts.
If you have to post three times in a row to obtain help theres a good chance that help might not be forthcoming. Try posting at the aircrack-ng forums.
