    Default BT2 Final Install Problems

    Hi there,

i tried since 3 days to install BT2 final. but it doesnt work.

    I make 2 partitions (2gb swap (hda1) & 8gb ext3 linux (hda2))

    then i do mkfs.ext3 /dev/hda2 and mkswap /dev/hda1

after that i startx and fired up the setup

    source /boot
    desti /mnt/hda2
    mbr /dev/hda

All right, setup successful so i type reboot.

and then ever the same : at boot up :

    No boot signature in partition

    Operation system not found

i think its a problem with lilo, so i boot up the live cd and typed lilo :
Fatal : creat /boot/map~:Read-only file System

    lilo -v
    same error

    bt2beta works fine...

i do the same with bt2 beta and all worked fine..

    okey....

i 'solved' the problem, isnt a good & nice way but it works, if someone know a bedder way, let me know :>

after trieing to fix lilo & mbr (unsuccessfully)

i installed bt2 beta boot it up all work fine, so i boot up bt2 final and installed it over the existing running bt2 beta. reboot and it worked : bt2 final

i never use BT1 or BT2 Beta so i couldnt say. I use 3 partitions,a small partition for the Kernal and boot files, and the other two the same as yours (swap, root)
First time i booted it up i had no operating system found but that was due to not configuring lilo properly. ( nano /etc/lilo.conf ) lilo was set to (root = /dev/hda2) but my root was hda4 on my laptop and hda3 on vmware. i forgot to change it the first time.
