this is probably a stupid question but im new and it seems like a good one to me lol. i put the disc and boot my laptop and a command screen comes up with a message at the top and "grub>" where you type commands. im just wondering if any1 can help me to actually boot the disc to get to backtrack.

this is the part where you would either act on that message or actually let us in on the secret...

there are a ton of threads discussing this type of issue already, but you may want to check the md5sum of the disc and perhaps re-download/re-burn it to start with....
