help with password for bt4 in vmware

Hi, can someone help me with the password for bt4 in vmware, the program let me put in root as user, but cant write toor or anything else at all as password ,What am I doing wrong?

You shouldn't need a password since when the vmware boots up it should already be at the root prompt. Should look like this: root@bt:~# If that is the case then you are logged on already, if you want the magic of a desktop then type startx Otherwise you are going to need to check the md5sum and re-download as necessary.
