After looking around online for videos and tutorials to help improve my own budding knowledge of network security, I noticed that the vast majority just tell you what to do step-by-step without really telling you what was going on underneath the hood.
I'm a very firm believer in that you should know how your tools are working and what happens when you press enter.
My first tutorial is a very basic level of knowledge for how NMap works for your connect scans, stealth/half open scan, and FIN scan. A wireshark capture is used to explain what is going on during the scans.
