NO GUI Mode Toshiba Core i5 Nvidia 310M

Hi!
I recently bought a Toshiba CORE i5 Nvidia 310M, boot BT4 or BT4 R1 and reaches the console mode, , but i can't run GUI MODE with STARTX, but when I start in graphical mode rejects me, XORG ERROR, someone has solved this?

Well if you are typing STARTX as above it will never work. Try startx

If what Archangel-Amael suggested does not work, try typing:

dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

or:

fix-vesa

Thanks sickness, y ran fixvesa and can start GUI MODE =D, but copy paste fyi, with startx this happen:

First post, forgive my noobness...

I have an "issue", more like a preference. Im running BT 4 R1 and have been for a while.

I can only run "startx" after i have run a "fixvesa" meaning my display runs at the (lower than optimal) 1024x768 setting. I've tried installing drivers and editing the xorg.conf file with no luck.

I have an Asus U43JC-X1(Core i5 and Nvidia 310M)

Any help would be very appreciated.

hi again, I want to use nvidia CUDA G310M, but, I install nvidia driver ( aptitude install nvidia-driver ) and nothing, can begin startx, I install nvidia from website NVIDIA-Linux-x86-256.53.run but I can't begin startx, now fixvesa don't load, somebody know how fix it? plz
My laptop, TOSHIBA Core i5 nvidia G310M

hi , I have laptop asus k42jc(VGA : nVidia GeForce 310M) and I suffer 3 days with installation driver on it, drivers with offsite erase all records in xorg.conf...
