Talking Is BackTrack 3 any good, are there any risks not running BT4?

    Hello guys,
Sorry for the total n00b question. I am studying BT4 and learning Linux at the same time. I have BT3 study materials and see BT3 posted for download. Do I run any security risks running an older version? I am I selling my self short, education wise by not using 4? Can you still learn applicable tools and techniques for pentesting?

I would appreciate any feedback, again I'm a total n00b so take it easy on me if this is a dumb question. I would just like to be able to follow my materials without having to go online and find out what's changed with the commands every five minutes. Believe it or not finding the answers can take a long time

    Thanks everyone!

what you are asking is kind of like asking if you should be installing windows 95 on your new computer! Install backtrack 4 of course, its built off of a ubuntu base so its easier to update and take care of then bt3, and also bt3 is not supported anymore in these forums. Linux basically stays the same, but the new kernal in bt4 r1 also has better hardware compatibility with some wifi chipsets in a addition to running smoother on many machines.
