RealTek 8191SE

I couldn't find any information posted about my hardware: a Toshiba Qosmio laptop with a RealTek 9181SE wireless chip.

I am here to tell you that I have successfully gotten this hardware to work in a WPA setting. I have not yet had a chance to try WEP.

It required a separate driver supplied by RealTek which can be found on their website. In order to utilize this I created a persistent bootable Back Track 4 USB installation utilizing the Install BackTrack Persistent to USB Tutorial.

The driver supports the RealTek 8191SE (and VA2 variant) and the 8192SE. From what I can find these chips are utilized in several Toshiba and HP laptops as well as a handful of lower end motherboards.

Hello to everyone, i spent my last three days trying to connect my laptop to my WiFi Router. My laptop has RTL8192SE chipset.After staring wicd client i get a "no wireless network found error" and running ifconfig and iwconfig command i get that my wireless card isn't recognize, there's no trace of wlan0 interface.

These are my troubles, there's anyone who can help me?

u may download the lastest driver from realtek website.
