    Default looking for hostap

Hey, very new to these tools but im getting there slowly. Got the dual boot working ok, flashed my senao card to v1.7.4 and its in monitor mode. Wont inject at all. read through the forum and nothing worked for me, but using hostap drivers should. havent a clue where to get them. so if anyone has a link for some good drivers for my senao nl-2511cd ext2 prism 2 that would be great. also i cant get BT1 to boot up. downloaded it from here, burnt it off at 2x,4x,8x,and 16x none of them worked. i would really like to try V1 too. i heard that my card shouldnt have any problems with that version. THANKS

    Default See The Wiki!

Many questions are answered on the Wiki. :P

The long and the short of it is:

    bt ~ # rmmod orinoco_cs
    bt ~ # rmmod orinoco
    bt ~ # rmmod hermes
    bt ~ # modprobe hostap_cs

This works fine for my prism cards (including a senao).

    Regards,

    i tried it
    rmmod orinoco_cs no errors
rmmod orinoco (ERROR: Module orinoco is in use by orinoco_pci)
rmmod hermes (ERROR: Module orinoco is in use by orinoco_pci, orinoco)
    modprobe hostap_cs no errors
is there something else i need to do. disable orinoco_pci maybe. i cant see how its in use when the card isnt in and my built in wifi isnt on.

i did try it with my card out. this time i typed rmmod orinoco_pci then the other commands. everything worked but when i start kismet it only gives me one choice. wlan0 prism2 (monitor mode enabled) looked at iwconfig wifi0 mode:monitor and wlan0 mode:monitor. everything seems ok i think. i'll hammer my router with some packets when my kid goes down for a sleep. hope it works this time.

did a reboot and it went back to orinoco drivers. is there a way to keep it on prism2, also this time when i put the commands in it worked straight away and iwconfig says wifi0 mode:Master, wlan0 mode:Master
