Hey guys, I'm quite new to the scene. I know how newbies are treaten, but I'll try my best.
So anyways, I recovered my key with KisMAC on my iMac, but that wasn't the real thing since I don't own a MacBook and therefore, it's quite useless.
After reading some FAQ's, i noticed aircrack-ng was the base for KisMac (and Kismet of course). So I got the whole back | track image on my USB Stick and started dumping overnight. Shamefully, I had to notice that a.) airodump-ng needs the -w option to write the dump somewhere and b.) I need an image to write to.
Anyways, after installing it to my harddrive, I'm fine now and I was able to recover my key much faster than before.
Here's what i used:
Later, I decrypted the .cap file with aircrack-ng and I got the key.
airodump-ng mon0 --channel 1 -w home
Now to my question:
Since it needs a special command to write the file somewhere, is there a use for airodump-ng and aircrack-ng together? (Probably with pipes?)
So airodump doesn't need to save the .cap and whatsoever files and can work "on-the-fly" ?
