Error updating kernel 2.6.34

when i enter this command:

cp /boot/config-2.6.34 .config

i get this error:

cp: cannot stat '/boot/config-2.6.34': No such file or directory

I am using VMware worksation 7.1 and Backtrack 4
please help.
