Im using crunch to feed straight into aircrack-ng using the following command

./.../crunch 1 8 | aircrack-ng -b (bssid) -w - ./bel*.cap

Which works just fine but will only test 8 char strings, i know the key is over this (cause its my own router!) so i tried the following cammand

./.../crunch 1 63 | aircrack-ng -b (bssid) -w - ./bel*.cap

Now what happens is it just hangs and says "reading packets, please wait" i have left it like this for an hour and it just does nothing at all.
Iv run just the crunch command and it works just fine going for a and adding up, so the problem must be with aircrack-ng somewhere, iv looked at the docs and there is nothing about altering the string lenght that aircrack-ng can receive (looks like it is only doing 8 char string letters) can anyone help or point me in the right direction please?
Many thanks Chris
