Default view list of networks in airodump-ng

    Whenever I type

    airodump-ng wlan0

I receive a long list of networks which does not fit in the terminal window. When I press

    ctrl-c

to cancel the scan, the bottom of the list is cut off. Is there a way to save the entire output of the scan?

Red face Re: view list of networks in airodump-ng

u can dump them down to txt file with this i think :

    --write
    or
    -w

its the same job and then the name u want to save like blahblah.txt

check the --help for more options or just type airodump-ng and hit enter it will show the commands with some description

    i hope that helps

I am not sure what to search for but I tried looking for guides on using the terminal and how to scroll but that did not help in this case. I also found out that you can use

    -w

to write the results to a csv file. I would like to know how to maintain the list in the terminal though.

Well the program you are using is called airodump-ng, I bet if you insert that word plus either document or tutorial you will find more info.
Most command also have a man(ual) page. So type # man airodump-ng and see what happens in your shell.

Of course, if you really wanted to have some fun, go to Wal-Mart late at night and ask the greeter if they could help you find trashbags, roll of carpet, rope, quicklime, clorox and a shovel. See if they give you any strange looks. --Streaker69

    If use:

    airodump-ng -w [FILENAME] [DEVICE]

    example:

    airodump-ng -w networksinrange wlan0

youll get a few files created, open the .crv file and you should have a list of the networks that airodump picked up
