Yes I fully agree with you there, but I don't see any harm to allowing links only to other posts within the forum.
That way it would be easier for people (like I was) with less than 15 posts that have spent time reading and exploring the forums to help those that are too lazy to use the search button or spend time reading.
But then I suppose if they have not tried to help themselves then..........

If your opinion doesn't matter much then I have just wasted my time typing this

The new spamming measures are working pretty well, but occasionally someone does get through. Just a reminder to *not* reply to this threads...for some types of spam, responses validates the spamming method and initiates more spam. Your best option is to not respond, and report the post. Reporting the post can be accomplished by the * button next to the post number.

I'm new here and I've not had to ask any questions. Every question I've had (as stated above) has been easily solved by either searching here or looking on the wiki. I think you could raise the waiting period to a week or 2. I don't really like the idea of a post minimum in the 1 section simply because of times like this one (as this is my first post).

Unfortunately, not everyone is smart enough to search the forums or the Wiki; although you are right to suggest that the answers to most questions are already there.
