Broadcom
Im trying to run backtrack on my hp laptop
Specs:http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/p...&lang=en&cc=us
backtrack 2.0beta, wifi would not work
backtrack 2.0final, wifi works(kinda)
I know there is come issues with the Broadcom chipset.
Basically, i can connect to my access point, but after about 5 min it keeps disconnecting then reconnecting out of no where.
and another major problem is, its SLOW.
I'm talking NOTHING over 2-10 kbs
I have not moved the laptop, and its sitting 2 feet from the AP
Can anyone help me out?

Broadcom wifi cards just don't work in 2.0beta and everything before. You should be lucky that it even finds your drivers in the release... I have no clue why you are getting slow speeds, maybe you should move closer to the AP you are trying to connect to.

Well, im not using beta. Im using final.
i cant move any closer, im two feet away from the ap

I have the HP dv6110us and it is almost the same notebook. From what i get the drivers for the Broadcom 4311 chipset is still in DEV. and if you check the website they say that the driver is UNSTABLE. And there are alot of people having the same problems that you are. Also you can use Ndiswrapper and from what i hear that works great. The downside is you will not be able to inject which you still cannot with the Broadcom 4311 drivers. I could be wrong. And if so someone PLEASE correct me !!!
