BackTrack 2.0 Final

Hi everyone. I'm still trying to find my way around Linux, and am having problems installing BT 2.0 Final as a VM under VMware Server. I did not have any problems installing the Beta version of BT 2.0 as a VM with Virtual PC 2007. The installer says that it installed correctly and I can navigate to the files at /mnt/sda1/. However, upon restarting the OS I get nothing but a single underscore.

I don't know if this helps but /mnt/sda1/etc/lilo.conf is as follows...

boot = /dev/hda
prompt
timeout = 20
bitmap=/boot/splash.bmp

change-rules
reset

vga = 0x317

image = /boot/vmlinuz
root = current
initrd = /boot/splash.initrd
label = bt
read-write

try root=/dev/sda1 and maybe you should switch the boot=/dev/sda as well ...

i tried to vm with vm 2003 and it never did work right....sometimes it would boot, sometimes it would freeze. the most confusing part is it would never freeze at the same spot. id say try giving it more ram and try again. i gave it 640MB and it worked more often
