i have installed BT4 in Vmware and after first run internet was working[was using vmware connection]
i stop and run wlan0 then why i was trying to test int conn. not workin.

settings in vmware = bridged[auto]
i have run network in BT and still no connection..
how can i fix and reuse my vmware connection in bt?

Delete the whole folder with the VM image in it, re-extract a new image from the DL and open that one with vmplayer.

Hi,

Make sure that when you start Backtrack and after logon in it, open console and enter this command:

start-network

Above command will start your network in the second and if it is ok, you have your BT connected.
If above steo didnt help then you should try next step:

In console, write this command:

ifconfig

Above command will list devices you use (Network Devices). eth0 is default one and should be used.
Vmware is set to BRIDGE MOD and that is ok but if not working for you, set ADAPTER SETTING to NAT.
NAT will use HOST for NETWORK ACCESS.
