Installing Ralink rt2870(NOT USB) please help,already looked over forums in ubuntu

I'm failing to succeed with installing the driver for my INTERNAL card.
i tried the installtion directions given in ubuntu forums for driver for USB.
it fails on extracts and installtion as well..

i dont think it will help anyways since this is not USB. its a laptop with that card.
iwconfig gives:
lo no wireless extensions.
eth0 no wireless extensions.

i did use BT on my PC and i have there the same card only USB, and i installed it's driver and it works fine.
over the laptop however, its not bootable..it was installed on the HD and the card simply not found.

Please help in any way you could.
i only need the card on and the rest will learn from the web

i just bought TP-link TL WN821N after i saw its a good card for BT and beginners.

You are using the wrong driver the 2870 is for usb, you need the rt2860sta driver
