Error 11: Unrecognized device string Need Help! Cant boot Windows 7.

ok im new so sorry if this has been posted before or i posted this in the wrong spot. i downloaded backtrack 4 (final) and booted the iso onto a flash drive using unetbootin. i then changed the boot order so the flash drive was first. after i did that i got into backtrack 4 did the install.sh and now i cant boot windows 7. even after changing the boot order to default, i turn my computer on and get a message that says:



Ubuntu 8.10, kernel 2.6.30.9
Ubuntu 8.10, kernel 2.6.30.9 (recovery mode)
Ubuntu 8.10, memtest86+
Other opperating systems :
Memory Test (on /dev/sda1)
Ubuntu 8.10, kernel 2.6.30.9 (on dev/sda1)
Ubuntu 8.10, kernel 2.6.30.9 (reconver mode) (on dev/sda1)
Ubuntu 8.10, memtest86+ (on dev/sda1)

i can only boot backtrack 4 OS, i really want to know what can i do to be able to boot my windows 7 home premium os.

Moved this here from the Experts forum *cough* and modifed the title a little.

Im hoping this will act as a proverbial "pigs head on a stake" and help educate others on the pitfalls that can occur when you don't carefully read instructions before following a potentially destructive process that you don't fully understand.

OP, when you ran the install.sh script from the BackTrack desktop, you installed BackTrack to your systems hard drive and overwrote your Windows install. You probably should have paid better attention to that "Prepare Disk Space" screen in the installer.

Hopefully you didnt have anything important stored on the hard drive. If you didn't, just reinstall Windows. If you did, consult a data recovery specialist; OR you can attempt to recover the data yourself using one of the many freely or commerically available file recovery tools (although based on your efforts so far I wouldn't necessarily recommend this last option).
