    Default Senao 2511CD Plus EXT2

    Hi all,

I have just installed the new BT2 final version!! It looks great with all the updated software and even my internal wifi is working.

But I have my Senao Prism card which I want to use for use with aircrack etc. When I go into Konsole and type Airmon-ng it says eth2 Chipset Hermes1 and Driver orinoco for my senao card.

Anybody know how to get this all correct to work with aircrack-ng suite? Thanks all for you help and I think many people have this "problem"

yeah, I'm interested to see if our Senao cards are supported out-of-the-box with BT2 final. I'll find out tonight and report back. As long as I can get into monitor mode without jumping through hoops I'll be happy.

packet injection works like a champ after doing this:
    bt ~ # rmmod orinoco_cs
    bt ~ # rmmod orinoco
    bt ~ # rmmod hermes
    bt ~ # modprobe hostap_cs

horray for getting my senao card in monitor mode.

when using the card in monitor mode after doing the above, 2 questions
how do you change the mac of the card
and am i suposed to use eth0 or wlan0 ? i cant get either to do much
they both recieve arp requests and start sending packets but the arp count stays very low and the ivs count is very very low

oops forgot to say it is a senao card with prism chipset

Here's a permanent fix for a hard drive install. If you are running a livecd, you'll need to do this every time. With a livecd, it's probably easier to do it the way the wiki says.

    rm /lib/modules/2.6.20-BT-PwnSauce-NOSMP/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/orinoco*
    rm /lib/modules/2.6.20-BT-PwnSauce-NOSMP/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/hermes.ko
    nano /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist

comment out the following lines in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist

    #blacklist hostap_cs
    #blacklist hostap_pci
    #blacklist hostap_plx
    #blacklist hostap

    insert card

with some laptops you might need to

    pccardctl insert

    bt ~ # lsmod
    Module Size Used by
    hostap_cs 56500 1
    hostap 107540 1 hostap_cs

If you want to keep the orinoco and hermes modules for use with another card, try adding them to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist. You could write a script to switch between them.
