Hello,
I'm just wondering if it is possible to put backtrack on a handheld pc.
Thanks for the info.

I don't know much about handheld pc... They probably do not have a cd-reader so it's by USB ?
USB or CF or SD or really any removable media should work, though the device would have to be x86 compatible or you'd have to rebuild the kernel for the appropriate CPU.
hum... I never heard about a handheld pc being x86 and rebuilding de kernel is a way to complicated for me ! lol
Neither had I but I can't claim to have heard of all the obscure hardware out there.Originally Posted by salut151

It should be possible. About 1/2 of the ppcs out these have linux versions. I was reading just today about this. The downside is that undex linux there is almost 0 support for the phone stuff in phone pdas. GPS? Forget it. BUt it should work. I'm sorry for not posting a link to help out. Will do once I find the sites again. What ppc do you got?Originally Posted by salut151

You can't just "install" BackTrack onto a PDA, if that's what you were hoping!?!
However, there's many of the mainstream tools already cross-compiled for ARM, etc, and running on *nix based PDA's. (See Thorins link above)
Once you've got yourself a PDA running *nix, look into "cross-compiling" methods to make some more yourself![]()
have a look here. If there is any interest, then I wouldn't mind posting some of the stuff that I've done so far.
If there is interest, please respond in the other post.
