in last devs, like bp said :
aircrack-ng will launch ptw
aircrack-ng -K will launch old style attack
the old aircrack-ng -z switch for ptw(like in O.9.1)will stay valid for backward compability....

oh cool. so we can just use the scripts as posted then. thank you
What do I enter at the prompt after the script displays the examples?
This is what I get:
bt ~ # sh WEPCrackScript.sh

Usage: [wireless_device] [attack_type] [channel] [ap_essid] [ap_mac] [client_mac]
Attack Types:
1 - Normal AP/Client
2 - Fake Association with random MAC
3 - Fake Association with given MAC (bypass MAC filter)
Examples:
Attack Type 1: wepcrack ath0 1 11 default 00:01:02:03:04:05 00:01:02:03:04:05
Attack type 2: wepcrack ath0 2 11 default 00:01:02:03:04:05 none
Attack type 3: wepcrack ath0 3 11 Essid WithSpace 00:01:02:03:04:05 00:11:22:33:44:55
bt ~ #
i'm sorry for stupid question....
but how to use this script? should I make a file *.sh and just copy posted script inside of this file and then run it in BT2?
i'm new in linux....![]()
How to run a bash script.
open kate or kwrite or whatever editor you fancy.
copy and paste the script into the editor.
save as......filename.sh
save to your root directory.
open a command shell and type chmod a+x filename.sh
you can also use chmod 755 filename.sh
they are the same command.
this makes the file excectable with all privliges. In linux all files have user, group, root, read, write and excecute priviliges
after that simply type
filename.sh at the prompt and voila.........
Why not chmod 777 instead of 755?? 777 gives full rights to everyone ...read write and execute...where 755 only gives the owner full rights (leaving out groups and others)...but hey..I guess thats a good thing if your the only one using BT2.....unless you got other accounts set up on your distro.
