Problems using apt-get or accessing the repositories or upgrading a package in Back Track.
Please do not immediately make a post if you try using apt-get once or twice to ask if the repos are down. There may be a time when they are not available due to maintenance or other reasons. Keep trying as eventually you may discover that you have typed the wrong command. You may even learn that as others have experienced, networking does need to be set-up and at a minimum you are able to communicate outside of your own lan.
If however you have tried for a 24 hour (or more period of time) then by all means feel free to make a detailed post about your problem.
The following items will be needed in order for us to help you out.
