I would like to buy a laptop which model is Compaq V3714 and Toshiba Satellite Pro A210-EZ2202. Both of these models are use atheros card but i don't know what chipset are using.

Besides that, any problem with this laptop when using with backtrack 2, 3 beta and Linux.

Let me explain my intentions, user17. Basically I want to "warsit" in my home, and get as many AP's as possible. while we are on this topic, does your 3945abg, work well? as in, does it inject and all the rest of it?

If you are trying to go distances, I would go with the ubiquiti and a cantenna with the correct adapter. But if you are not trying to go distances a wg511t will do.

In regards, to the ipw3945abg, I wouldn't recommend it. I have gotten it to inject and it works but some attacks fail, I can't remember which ones cause it was about a month ago that I last played with the ipw3945, and the reason why I bought the wg511t and ubiquiti.

Depends on where you're located. If the seller is a trusted ebay seller and you're paying via paypal then you should have protection. In other words if you don't receive the goods paypal will refund you the money, from what I understand. I also am going to have to take that route... Good Luck

google cantenna if u want to build one yourself, there are tons of places where you can find instructions. You other option is to buy a cantenna at www.cantenna.com. Make sure you get the right laptop adapter cable.
