I am a complete noob in Linux and BT ,should I get the BT 4 or will the BT 3 do ?
Probably easier for a noob to get the BT 4 on a live CD ? If so, where can I get this ?
Looks like this card is not recognized when using BT 3 on the live CD ?
Is there a way to find out if this Intel wireless card can work with BT 3 on thi live CD ?
What operating system is active on this CD ?

Common Knowledge: Username, "root". Password, "toor". "startx" gives you a GUI, and "fix-vesa" will fix BT if you have no GUI. Start networking with "/etc/init.d/networking start" and check your IP settings with "ifconfig -a". "dhclient" will automatically use DHCP for your IP. Google is your friend.
If you are a complete noob with Linux I would suggest you try another distribution the first time ... like Ubuntu or something so that you can understand how linux works and then get Backtrack which is more advanced.
