did you try the instructions here? http://www.backtrack-linux.org/forum...tml#post184764
I have the same result everything installs and runs great but doesn't run at startup... I'm also on r2. another weird thing... when i go to rotate the cube, its only like flipping a page over instead of a 3d cube. I tried adding two more desktops for a total of four but no dice.

hi guys im having trouble running compiz when i click reload windows manager i get black screen in only mouse courser but its freez.
helpp..
i've same problem...any ideas??
The "flipping page" is actually the cube! But its setup is made that way its a cueb with only one side - talking in compiz terms, u have only one workspace(not desktop).
And it doesnt run on startup? well, if u follow the guide link from dash1b it actually starts up, but u need the desktop environment to load prior to the compiz, thats why its foked up.
For the rest of you guys (the black screen) - do you have proper GPU drivers installed and tuned up? For example in many cases compiz doesnt work, or works that creepy way u see because of drivers (install newest GPU (ATI or nVidia) and lets see).
The intel website is a good idea and there is a driver there for your card. I' have read, that installing that driver is presently more for developers or advanced users (but that shouldnt be a problem since you run BT).
Look at this thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=928668) for some howtos and guides.
Hi folks
I had already opened the thread after I found this here, sorry!

I would like to add an information: the graphics card is Intel Graphics HD.
Strange that in Ubuntu the Compiz works here.
