Any chance you could supply some outputs from airmon-ng and iwconfig?

kernel version, OS, is this in a VM, etc.

I have detection issues with the usb cards running vmware are certain hardware platforms. For example, my Dell latitdue 4300 doesn't running xp as the host os, VM7, doesn't like to detect the cards when hot-inserted (in the VM). Long story short, I have to boot backtrack with the card inserted to get it detected and working properly. does it pertain to this issue? You tell us. I have this card and don't have any real issues with it.
