Booting off a Live DVD

Well I seem to be doing something wrong. I used Ubuntu on a Live DVD in the past, but I can't get it working here. After booting up from the DVD it gives me a list of options including boot from DVD. No matter what option I select, I get taken to a command screen. Is there a command to actually boot off off the DVD?

It's been years since I've played with Linux. I'm now taking a class learning Linux and a Security class that wants this version of Linux. Any help is appreciated. I'm looking forward to using BT4.
