    Angry ExpressCard Slot

Anyone know where I could get a card compatible w/ linux that uses the express card slot on a laptop? I can't find one anywhere. I have no PCIMCA slot just the expresscard slot. Thanks for any help.

There are a few wifi USB sticks that are compatible. I think that is your only option for now.

    Default Alienware

I talked to a guy at alienware about finding a compatible external wifi card for my express card slot but all he said is they don't support third party equipment. I was stunned. I didn't ask for support I just wanted to know where to purchase some equipment to go with the system I have. After spending two days scouring the net I have decided to just give up the search.

    Ok thanks guys,
so which Wlan USB Stick do you guys recommend,
any atheros usb sticks out there?

the best usb stick would be a usb atheros card where you can mount an external antenna.

does this kind of wlan usb stick exist?

    thanks

I have not researched it but there was a post here about the D-link DWL-G122 USB Adapter. If I remember right there were multiple versions and only one of them works. If you find one that works post the make and version.

It's revision B1 which worked, unfortunately that was in the beta, in the final none of the DWL-G122 seems to work anymore....

apart from costing more than any pcmcia card ill ever buy and having no linux drivers it's an option if anything else fails..

    will this one work? sparklan.com/product_details.php?prod_id=132

    An interesting find!
Hopefully someone will write some *nix drivers in the fullness of time!

If anyone buys one of these, please post further info

BTW, Atheros have an expresscard card on the market.
    Anyone tried one of these?
