Gateway Offline

Well, I've managed to dump my AP's WEP, and manage to connect. Pretty much it's a school network so I don't have access to the router. I have a pre-configured PC that does work, but when I try to connect my laptop, I am unable to connect to the web (presumably because the gateway is offline).

Any ideas on why the internet is/n't working and the gateway is online for only one computer and not the other?

If you don't have access to the router then you are doing something we don't condone. Now would be a good idea to stop trying to mess with networks you don't have a right to mess with. Try doing something worthwhile with your time at school and learn something useful.
I mean for crying out loud the law says you have to be there so why not make the most of it, and get an education. It's free for you.
