transfer files on backtrack to another USB

HEy!

Is it possible to take files from, say, your backtrack root folder adn to send it to another USB plugged in the same computer?

unless im misunderstanding you all you need to do is open your storage media folder
K menu -> system menu -> storage media
there you will see you drives including the USB you want to copy files too

* note: if this folder is empty hit the refresh button

If the USB stick is mounted, you can copy or rsync. If your a GUI person, you can drag and drop in Konqueror.

YES! It is possible and im going to go the extra step and show you how:

type in these commands

root:blkid -L (this should show the devices or partitions connected to your computer even your usb drive you should get something like this)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
/dev/sda1 ntfs (not mounted)
/dev/loop0 squashfs /rofs
/dev/sda2 ntfs HP_RECOVERY (not mounted)
/dev/sdb1 vfat FLASH /media/cdrom0
/dev/sdd1 vfat Cruzer (not mounted)

then type for this (for FAT32 formatted devices):

root:mount -t vfat /dev/XXXX /mnt/usb

type this for ntfs formatted devices:

root:mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/XXXX /mnt/usb

then open your system menu in GUI mode open home folder type in /mnt where is says /root and click on the usb folder and you should see all the items on your usb drive. Now you can click and drag item into and out of that folder.
