Any disadvantages to using Virtual Box vs. real installation?

I will have a compatible USB wireless adapter soon. But I unfortunately do not have a setup that will support a real installation.

What kind of disadvantages, or losses in capability, can I expect by just going the Virtualbox route?

1. Speed disadvantage on scanning/cracking
2. You can not use built in wireless card
3. Display issues/speed

I have a setup of BT4f on HP DM1 pavillion on VBox with alfa 1, 3Gb RAM and speed issue is noticeable.
