Default Install on partition and packet injection

    Hi

I'm new to backtrack and a bit less to linux
    I have two questions

    1. I want to install backtrack on a specified partition - is that possible?

    2. I have Dell 1350 WLAN Mini-PCI (broadcom) on my inspiron 6400
i have read in here HCL:Wireless - Offensive-security.com that my card doesn't support packet injection

does that mean I would not be able to crack wep?

    Yes and Yes.

Yes your not gonna be able to crack WEP but don't get me wrong its possible but since your new it's damn near impossible for you.

Second yes, you can install it on a partition when running the installer click manual and of you go with some more research if you can't figure out the rest.

If you want to crack WEP go buy the TP-Link tl-wn821n wireless usb dongle and follow these instructions I know this one works, because I bought one yesterday and if you can't find that one, here is the list of some wireless usb dongles and the instructions.

This the best advice your gonna get on the WEP cracking thing trust me now here's the list

P.S READ the WHOLE thing and NOT just the BOXES.
Stand up and be counted as a linux user.
